Police are continuing their ongoing investigation into the activities of outlaw motorcycle gangs in the Thunder Bay area. The Tri-Force Drug Unit (composed of the OPP, Thunder Bay Police and the RCMP) in conjunction with the Provincial Special Squad (who investigate outlaw motorcycle gangs in the province) and assisted by the OPP Canine Unit, executed two search warrants this date.

A search warrant was executed on a Tupper St. Thunder Bay residence today. Police seized almost two ounces of cocaine, a small amount of marihuana and a quantity of cash. As the result of the search a 44-year-old male and a 27-year-old female have been charged with possession for the purposes of trafficking, possession of a controlled substance and proceeds of crime. The female has been released and the male is being held for a bail hearing.

In the second investigation a search warrant was executed on a Dawson Road residence in the city. Police seized just over 5 kilo’s of marihuana, a small amount of cocaine and a quantity of cash. A quantity of the drugs was located by the OPP Canine Unit, buried on the property. A 49-year-old male and a 34-year-old female face charges of possession for the purposes of trafficking and possession of a controlled substance. Both are being held for a bail hearing.

The potential street value of the drugs seized this date is just over $50,000.00.
